Hundreds of fans were star struck when they met personally with Wu Chun and Charlene Choi in a Meet-the-Fans session at the Empire Theatre last Thursday night.
Home-grown mega star Wu Chun and Hong Kong superstar Charlene Choi known popularly as Ah Sa were in Brunei Darussalam to promote their movie, "Butterfly Lovers", which premiered last weekend.Fans who had the movie tickets from the screening joined in the session. There were also fans from neighbouring countries like Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Introduced by the emcees, DJ Mei Ting and DJ Rui Guang, Wu Chun together with Charlene Choi made their appearance on stage at around 9pm.
DJ Mei Ting asked Ah Sa about her first impression of Brunei and she replied, "I think it's a very rich country. From the plane, I could see lots of individual houses and the hotel is marvellous.
It was Ah Sa's first trip to the Sultanate.
When asked about the unforgettable moment in making the movie, both artistes talked about the minor injuries sustained during shooting. Ah Sa said, "The unforgettable moment was when I was buried in the ground at the end and there were a lot of creepy insects."
When Wu Chun was asked about the sizzling scene of him kissing Ah Sa, he shunned the question by saying, "I think the most romantic part of the movie was when I had to carry Ah Sa on my back because her leg was injured."
To liven up the atmosphere, Wu Chun and Ah Sa also gave away merchandise from the "Butterfly Lovers" to fans that could answer questions about the movie. And to the delight of the fans, Wu Chun also put on the costume from the movie.
The highlight of the evening also saw Wu Chun celebrating his belated birthday on Oct 10 by cutting a birthday cake.
